The Coral Scottish Grand National runners will be going to post on Saturday 2nd April at 3:35pm, the famous race taking place a week before its more famous Aintree equivalent instead of a week later as is usually the case.

A grand total of 31 runners have stood their ground and made it past the five-day declaration stage for the 2022 Scottish Grand National, the likes of Mister Fogpatches, Mighty Thunder, Corach Rambler, Threeunderthrufive, Yala Enki and Bristol De Mai having been scratched.

Kitty’s Light heads the ante post market for the testing contest with many bookies going 7/2 on the Christian Williams-trained six-year-old. This runner is a consistent sort with three second-placed finishes on the board, including in the last outing at Kempton Park in the Coral Trophy.

The Welsh handler is also saddling the current second favourite in early betting markets, Win My Wings at a general 7/1. Stormy Judge and The Ferry Master come in next in the betting at 10/1 apiece while the top five here is completed by Olly Murphy’s The Wolf at 12/1.

The Scottish National takes place at Ayr Racecourse with a total of 27 fences needing to be negotiated and you can find the full list of entries for the 2022 renewal by visiting our Scottish National Runners & Riders page.
