Willie Mullins has enjoyed an excellent season and what better way to round it off than with victory in the world’s greatest steeplechase on Saturday, 13th April.
Very strong team
Irish handler Willie Mullins last tasted success in the Grand National with Hedgehunter almost two decades ago and he is aiming a very strong team towards the latest renewal of the Aintree marathon. Mullins claimed nine wins at the 2024 Cheltenham Festival last month and he has three of the top eight in the betting for the 2024 Grand National, foremost amongst these being second favourite I Am Maximus who is currently a best price of 8/1 (odds correct at time of writing).
Ease in ground
Support is increasing for Mr Incredible whose odds have shortened to around 16/1 (from 20/1) with indications that there may be an ease in ground currently soft, heavy in places, this acting in the runner’s favour. Meetingofthewaters (12/1 best odds) is also a leading contender from the Irish handler’s stable.
Cheltenham winners
Mullins claimed the Gold Cup with Galopin Des Champs and the Champion Hurdle with State Man at Prestbury Park last month and he is fast closing in on a prize fund worth £2million from just 97 runners this season.
