The 2019 Randox Health Grand National was once again an unqualified success with over 60,000 flocking to Aintree Racecourse on Saturday afternoon to witness Tiger Roll make history by becoming the first runner since the 1970s to win the race on two consecutive occasions. Whether the Gordon Elliott-trained horse will appear in the 2020 renewal of the famous steeplechase remains to be seen, however punters can at least pencil the date into their diaries following the announcement of the dates for next year’s Aintree festival.
The 2020 Aintree Festival will get underway on Thursday 2nd April with Ladies Day on 3rd April and the Grand National itself at the usual time of 5:15pm on Saturday 4th April. Tickets won’t be going on general sale until July 2019 although there are numerous hospitality options from which to choose.
As is the norm, tickets for the stands and terraces will almost certainly sell fast for the eagerly awaited event so the usual advice applies – get your tickets as soon as possible to avoid disappointment. You can register with the Jockey Club and download an app which gives priority booking for the event, an ideal option for those who simply cannot miss out on the festival.
Similarly accommodation will definitely be at a premium in Liverpool and the surrounding area with hotel rooms already selling out fast so now is the time to get your Grand National plans in order.
