Constitution Hill set to face five rivals in the Aintree Hurdle on Thursday

Constitution Hill is one of the hot properties in jump racing right now and the Nicky Henderson inmate will be lining up against five other contenders on the opening day of the 2023 Randox Grand National Festival.

Nicky Henderson superstar Constitution Hill will be the one to watch on Day One of the 2023 Randox Grand National when he takes his place in the Aintree Hurdle. The Michael Buckley-owned runner is now unbeaten in six outings and was last seen charging up in the Champion Hurdle at last month’s Cheltenham Festival.

This will be Constitution Hill’s first contest at Aintree and he will be making a first step-up to two-and-a-half miles under rules at the meeting later this week. Nevertheless, he had a similar trip lined-up at Ascot back in November prior to being declared a non runner thanks to the somewhat unsuitable ground.

Last season he was a brilliant novice and his domination has continued this season in open company, the 6-year-old triumphing by twelve lengths in the Fighting Fifth Hurdle as well as the Christmas Hurdle and Champion Hurdle by seventeen and nine lengths respectively.

At the time of writing, the Henderson-trained horse is 2/11 firm favourite to finish first past the post in the Aintree Hurdle with his biggest threats deemed to be Zanahiyr and Epatante at respective odds of 7/1 and 8/1.
