And they’re off!! Scottish Horse Racing set to resume on June 22nd

  • Horse Racing meetings in Scotland have been suspended since March
  • The action is set to resume behind closed doors in late June
  • Ayr racecourse will host the first meeting since the lockdown

 

Scottish Racing are making plans for the sport to return behind closed doors on Monday, June 22nd, this being in accordance with the latest Scottish Government guidelines for leaving lockdown. Indeed first minister Nicola Sturgeon yesterday outlined the proposals for Phase One of easing lockdown restrictions and these pave the way for a full resumption of Horseracing in less than four weeks’ time.

 

Horse Racing News

Discussions have been ongoing between the Scottish Government and Scottish Racing in order to support the provisional list of race meetings scheduled for the next few months, however this fixture list is subject to the ongoing public health situation and may be subject to amendments should the situation change.

As things stand, the provisional fixture list for June, July and August is as follows.

As already mentioned, the above list may well be subject to amendments due to the ongoing public health situation. All meetings will be held behind closed doors for the time being and all attendees must be aware that they will need to meet all the BHA Covid-19 requirements which include a three-stage screening process.
