Irish Grand National 2025: Handicap Ratings Announced for Fairyhouse Showpiece

The weights for the 2025 BoyleSports Irish Grand National have been unveiled, with Gordon Elliott’s Better Days Ahead leading the field. The novice chaser, who secured third place in the Brown Advisory Novices’ Chase at Cheltenham, has been assigned a rating of 154 and will carry 11st 12lbs.

Following closely are Willie Mullins’ duo, High Class Hero and Quai De Bourbon, both rated at 148 and set to carry 11st 6lbs. Rebecca Curtis’ Haiti Couleurs, the ante-post favourite after his National Hunt Chase victory, is rated 141 and will shoulder 10st 13lbs.

Completing the top 30 is Moonovercloon, who, despite a recent dip in form, secures the final guaranteed spot with a rating of 133 and a weight of 10st 5lbs.
